I had leucemia when i was playing WoW and i was guild master. I was doing raid lead everynight with my guild knowing i was at hospital. Everyone just knew it and keep playing the same way as a friendly guild with me. They knew they had nothing To say and Just had To play with me To be supportive. One day ive received a card that every member had sign personnaly. They all send each other that letter until it comes To my hospital room. That was so much feeling. And btw best part is that im still alive and fully recovered. Gamers can be supportive beasts

I played in a small 10 man guild when one of our healers told us he had ha brain tumour and wouldn't live for more than 3 months. We continued to play and the day came when his mother logged in on his account and told us that "Cryziz" went to sleep and never woke up. Bro that one hit me hard, so as some of the comments here... i was in a very dark part of my life for the last 4 years, depression, alcoholism existential crisis, trying to kill myself, failing, being hospitalized in hospices and and shit, and i had these 2 friends from league of legends, they were the only friends i had, and they really helped me getting back in the line, becoming someone better u know. We gamers are humble as fuck.

In wow, at the end at the expansion where everyone's bored, i've decided to raid ogrimar. Fuck the hord anyway. This dude was super late, no idea how he was so slow but I didn't mind, i told the riad to wait. Some guy in the raid told me the guy was dying, paralysed after the neck and was somehow playing with his longue. He show me a video of the guy, all the cable to his mouth, like how he can play fucking wow ? raid was mostly succesful, i was told the guy was thankful for the raid and for helping as much as i could this night. By now, it's certain he passed away. I hope I did good enough

Used to play DnD with a couple of friends years ago, and this friends was our cleric and I loved a D20 he had, it was dark red with golden numbers, and one day after playing he told me to keep it and that it was his lucky die, and then as we played once a week a couple days later we found out he killed himself, but I still play with that die, and it's really lucky, it's a little bit scrapped and it's starting to loose it's colour but feels like I'm still playing with him.
